Seacastle Review

by David aged 12, Wynnum West SS.

This is an imaginative book. You can easily relate to the characters.

If I was to rate it out of 10 I would give it a 9.

My favourite bit was when the half-mermaid girl is on land for the first time and she's all dehydrated and scared because she didn't know what dry land felt like.

Overall, a good book.

Seacastle Review

The Lost Shimmaron Book #1 SeaCastle is a fascinating book about two brothers who risk their lives to save ’The Beacon’ to stop the underwater city of SeaCastle from being destroyed.

My favorite character is Catya the half mermaid half human because she is nice and caring but can be stubborn as well. I also like the relationship between the brothers Nick and Thomas because in the end no matter how annoying your brother can be sometimes you just have to believe in them.

I am rating it a 10 out 10 because I think that all ages could enjoy this book no matter what level of reading.

I really hope that everyone else who reads this book enjoys it like I did.

Seacastle is a wonderful book. It had a good ending and I liked the part when they go to the world with those tiger things.

Seacastle Review

This mysterious, strange, humorous book was written by Tansy Rayner Roberts, the author of many different surprising books.

In this story Thomas and his brother Nick are called into the Habitat by the soft, quiet voice of the Beacon.  With a quick turn of the head, Nick sees Thomas kicking and splashing in the water, starting to go down, down, down.

Nick started to follow and just as he was running out of breath, Thomas screamed with bubbles coming out of his mouth "Breathe, just breathe!"  Slowly Nick started to breathe and thinks, wow, Thomas was right.

So then, their exciting adventure begins in Lake Shimmer.

This book is fantastic because it's a fantasy which unfolds in such an adventurous way ... I just couldn't put it down, and that is why I would recommend it.
